Connect your Wix blog

Publish from Stratafold straight to your Wix blog. Paste your dashboard link and an API key from your Wix account, and you are done.

Once your Wix site is connected, posts you publish in Stratafold appear on your Wix blog, usually within a minute.

Before you start

  • Your site needs Wix Blog. If it doesn’t have a blog yet, add one in the Wix editor first.
  • Only the site’s owner can create the API key Stratafold needs.
  • Only posts go to Wix. Wix pages are built in the Wix editor and can’t be created from outside.

1. Get two things from Wix

  1. Open your site’s dashboard in Wix and copy the link from your browser’s address bar. It starts with https://manage.wix.com/dashboard/ and tells Stratafold which site is yours.
  2. Open manage.wix.com/account/api-keys and choose Generate API Key.
  3. Name it Stratafold, give it access to this site only, and turn on the permissions for Wix Blog (Manage Blog) and Rich Content.
  4. Generate the key and copy it. Wix shows it only once.

2. Connect it in Stratafold

  1. Open Settings → Website in your workspace and choose Connect a Wix website — or answer Wix when a new business asks Where is your website?
  2. Enter your website address, paste the dashboard link and the API key, and tick what should appear on your blog.
  3. Choose Connect my website. Stratafold checks everything with Wix straight away and says exactly what to fix if something is missing — the key, the blog, or a permission.

What happens next

  • Publishing creates the post on your blog, with its first image as the cover image and its SEO description as the excerpt. The author is whoever wrote your blog’s latest post.
  • Publishing again updates the same post rather than creating a copy.
  • Unpublishing, archiving or deleting turns the post back into a draft in Wix. Nothing is deleted.
  • Things you published before connecting aren’t sent in bulk. Open one and choose Send to website.

If something goes wrong

If Wix is busy, Stratafold keeps trying on its own. If the key is deleted or loses a permission, publishing is paused and Stratafold names the missing permission. Fix it in Wix’s API Keys — or choose Change key in Settings → Website — then Check connection, and everything waiting is sent. If your blog has never had a post, Wix may ask for an author: publish one post in Wix yourself, then check the connection.
