List your products on Etsy

Connect your Etsy shop and the products you publish in Stratafold become Etsy listings, with their photos, price, description and how many you have. Stratafold makes each one a draft in your shop, so you can check postage and price on Etsy before it goes on sale.

This is for things you make or buy and send yourself. For print-on-demand, use Printify instead — a listing Stratafold makes directly isn’t connected to Printify, so its orders would never be printed.

Before you start

• An Etsy shop with at least one postage profile and one processing time set up in Etsy’s delivery settings. Stratafold uses yours and never invents postage prices.
• Owner or admin in your Stratafold workspace.

1. Connect your shop

1. In Stratafold, go to Settings → Website and find Sell on Etsy.
2. Choose Connect my Etsy shop. Etsy asks whether to allow Stratafold — approve it, and you come back to Stratafold.
3. If it says Connecting to Etsy wasn’t finished, choose the button again and approve on Etsy’s page.

2. Answer Etsy’s questions once

Etsy asks these about every listing. Stratafold asks once and uses your answers for each product.

• What kind of thing do you sell? Type a word or two — mugs, earrings, candles — and choose the closest Category.
• Who makes what you sell? Choose I made or designed it for your own work, including designs a partner produces. Another company or person made it is only for supplies and vintage: Etsy refuses it for finished products.
• When was it made? Usually Made to order or the decade it was made.
• Postage — one of your Etsy postage profiles.
• Who produces it for you? If a partner produces what you design, tick them. Etsy requires it.
• How long do you take to get an order ready? One of your processing times.
• What should be listed on Etsy? Keep your products ticked. If you don’t have a kind of content for products yet, Product says New: Stratafold sets it up for you, with a name, price, how many you have, a product code, photos and a description.

Choose Start listing my products. You can change these answers later with Change the shop questions.

3. Publish a product

1. Choose New product — it’s in the Etsy section, and under Content items.
2. Fill in the Name, Price, How many you have and Description, and add Photos.
3. Choose Publish. The Publish elsewhere panel on the product shows the listing being made and, if Etsy refuses, Etsy’s reason — fix it and choose Try again.
4. On Etsy, open the draft, check the postage and price, and publish it there.

Changing or taking down a product

• Change it and publish again: the Etsy listing is updated.
• Unpublish takes the listing out of your shop by making it inactive. Nothing is deleted on Etsy.

Where AI saves you time

• Better photos: beside a photo, Polish or replace with AI tidies it up in a style you choose. The button shows what it costs before you start, and your original stays in your files.
• Write the words: in Content items, choose Generate with AI, pick Product and describe it in a sentence. The AI drafts the name and description in your voice. It never invents prices, so add the price and stock yourself.
• Tell people: once it’s published, Share on social media → Write my posts writes a post for each network.

If something goes wrong

• “Etsy needs a price” — add a price and publish again.
• “Etsy created draft listing … but refused its photo” — the draft is already in your shop, so don’t choose Try again: that would make a second one. Add the photo to that draft on Etsy.
• Something else — the reason Etsy gave is shown in Publish elsewhere. Most are fixed by changing an answer under Change the shop questions.
